The Origin of 'The Fish and Duck'
In the early days, the establishment was originally named ‘The Fish & Duck Inn,’ with the original sign still adorning the doorway. Local residents, when brainstorming a name for their new drinking venue, settled on this title because they envisioned patrons going to fish on the lake and then ducking in for a pint before heading back out. Thus, the name ‘The Fish and Duck Inn’ came to life. Over the years, locals began to shorten it to simply ‘The Fish and Duck’ or ‘The Duck.’
